Kyrgyzstan?€™s Natural Beauties

Kyrgyz people love to tell visitors a funny legend about the origin of their country. It goes like this: After God created the Earth, he summoned the first representatives of the nations who were to settle it.



All of them received a piece of land, vast or small, prosperous or sterile. But during the Great Distribution, the First Kyrgyz, alas, was sleeping, and received nothing.



When he woke up and realized that his people would be left without a motherland for eternity, he turned to God who, merciful, told him: "I created a small piece of land I intended to keep for myself, the most beautiful of all, but since I don't want any people without a land on this planet, you can have it." Hence, the Kyrgyz people were bestowed with this small but heavenly land that became Kyrgyzstan.



It is, of course, a legend. But when contemplating this country's many natural beauties, from snow-capped mountains to the pristine waters of lake Issyk Kul, one would almost believe it is true…
