"One-act ballets" at? the ZiL Culture Center will feature four short pieces, two of? which are choreographed by? Balanchine and? one by? Paul Mejia, Farrell's ex-husband.
Born in? St. Petersburg in? 1894, Balanchine turned his back on? bolshevik Russia in? 1924 and headed to? Paris where he joined the? Ballets Russes. He moved to? the United States in? 1933 and? is considered the? father of? American ballet.
