Railways in Loyalty Program

As of Sunday, frequent rail travelers will be able to collect points for trips and exchange them for free tickets in compartments or higher-level train cars, according to the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways for long-haul routes.

The number of points given per ticket depends on the type of train car and length of the route.

A passenger needs 6,000 points to receive a free ticket to a destination within 500 kilometers. Under this formula, a passenger would have to travel from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod 12 times in a compartment or 60 times in coach to get a free ticket for the same route. Sapsans and express trains are not included in the program.
