Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed off on an additional 1.1 billion rubles ($30 million) for road repair in areas of Russia's Far East damaged during floods last year, according to a document published on the government's website Thursday.
About 1,500 kilometers of roads were destroyed, and the new money will be added to a total of 6.3 billion rubles needed to fully restore the roads to their original state, the government said.
More than 100,000 people were affected in Russia's Far East after the Amur River burst its banks in fall 2013 in what meteorologists described as the worst such floods in 120 years.
