Moscow to Receive 60 Percent of Monthly Snow Norm on Tuesday Night

Sergei Porter / Vedomosti

A heavy snowstorm will strike Moscow on Tuesday night, covering the city with up to 60 percent of the average monthly norm of snow, the Hydrometeorological Center said in a statement.

The storm, due to start on Tuesday evening, is expected to bring 15 centimeters of snow, meteorologists said. Wind speed will reach 13-18 meters per second and conditions will be icy.

By Wednesday afternoon, the snow will turn into rain and fog will descend on the city in the evening, the RBC newspaper reported, citing the Fobos weather monitoring center.
