A photograph of an odd-looking vehicle driving down the streets of St. Petersburg quickly went viral on Monday after being published on a VKontakte community page dedicated to traffic accidents in Russia's northern city.

The photograph, taken by a witness from his car, shows a vehicle with a wooden log instead of a left rear wheel. "That guy was driving at 50 kilometers per hour, while everyone around pulled up, watching him," the photographer wrote on VKontakte.

Since the start of the year, more than 700 people have died and about 7,800 were injured in traffic accidents in the Leningrad region, St. Petersburg news website Fontanka.ru reported last month.
