An angry beaver finally got his revenge.
An estimated 1,500 residents of a Siberian region have been left without electricity after a beaver downed a tree onto power lines, Interfax reported.
“The beast committed sabotage by felling the tree it had chewed off onto the transmission line,” the MRSK power grid company’s subsidiary in the republic of Altai was quoted as saying.
It took two hours to find the culprit and restore power in Altai’s Soltonsky district, the company said.
This isn’t the first time a hungry beaver caused power outages in the region, Altaienergo said.
“For example, several years ago beavers simply attacked transmission lines feeding the village of Bobrovka,” the company said.
The root of Bobrovka – the word bobyor – translates as “beaver” from Russian.
