Trump Named Honorary Russian Cossack

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has been named an honorary Russian Cossack — the fearsome warrior clan known for their daring feats on the battlefield, Russian tabloid Life News reported Wednesday.

The Irbis Cossack group bestowed Trump with the title, inviting the entire Trump family to visit them in St. Petersburg.

An “unforgettable program” of traditional activities would be on offer should the U.S. leader ever wish to discover “the mysterious Russian soul,” said Irbis leader Ataman Andrey Polyakov.

The Cossacks are a traditional military order with a long history in Russia, Ukraine, and other neighboring countries. They often take on the controversial role of security guards, working with the police to maintain peace in Russia's streets.
