Russian Woman Calls Firefighters to Extinguish Her ‘Burning Soul’

A woman in the Russian city of Ufa called the local fire department to help put out her “burning soul,” the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported Monday.

“They found the woman in a state of alcohol intoxication, acting abnormally, singing and claiming that ‘her soul is on fire,’” RIA cited an unnamed source at the regional Emergency Situations Ministry as saying.

A video of the incident, reportedly filmed by the firefighters at the scene, was posted on social media Sunday.

A probe has been launched into the incident, RIA reported. The woman may face an administrative fine over issuing a false alarm.
