A Russian dancer who wowed onlookers with his dance moves in a Deadpool costume has brought out the big guns in his search for worldwide fame.
The dancer’s Instagram contest entry gained the attention of Puerto Rican reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, whose 2017 music video “Despacito” was the first to hit 5 billion YouTube views last year.
In the entry, the dancer is seen showing off his moves to Daddy Yankee’s latest song in snow-bound Russia as onlookers walk by.
“Straight in from Russia. This dude is the bomb!” Daddy Yankee wrote in a post featuring the video to his 25.1 million Instagram followers Saturday.
The featured dancer, a professional choreographer from the Urals city of Perm who goes by the name Viktor, said it was his first time dancing reggaeton.
Viktor’s Instagram account with 14,000 followers features him dancing in buses, malls, and the Moscow metro – in addition to an assortment of TV spots. In recent interviews with local media, Viktor said bystanders often approve of his dancing and ask him to pose for selfies.
“But the babushkas get scared and think that I’m a terrorist. I have to calm them down and tell them that I’m kind,” he was quoted as saying.
