Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has defused a bomb in a residential building in St. Petersburg.
The building was evacuated on Thursday morning after a police search of one of the apartments uncovered a homemade explosive device, the city's Fontanka news site reported.
Three people were detained at the scene.
The raid follows a second terror alert in Russia's southern city of Rostov-on-Don earlier on Thursday morning.
A homeless man lost his hand after picking up an improvised explosive device disguised as a flashlight outside one of the city's schools.
Children were not in the building when the explosion took place.
Russian authorities are currently on high alert following a terror attack in St. Petersburg on Monday. Fourteen people died when a bomb was detonated on the city's metro system, injuring more than 50 and sparking a city-wide lockdown.
