Putin Doesn't Plan to Meet With Turkey’s Erdogan

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not meet with Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday, the Interfax news agency reported.

“There has been no contact between the two presidents. And I'm unaware of any future contact between them,” Peskov said.

Earlier this week Erdogan proposed a meeting with Putin to discuss the latest developments in relations between the two countries.

Relations between Russia and Turkey deteriorated in November when a Turkish fighter jet shot down a Russian Su-24 warplane after it allegedly violated Turkish airspace.
