A light private airplane has crashed in the Jewish autonomous region in Russia's Far East, killing two people aboard, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Rescuers found the remains of the craft in the taiga where it had crashed after flying out Monday from the city of Khabarovsk, a ministry spokesperson said, RIA Novosti reported.
The accident comes just days after a helicopter crashed into an Arctic lake the Murmansk region, killing at least 12 people aboard.
Prosecutors are conducting checks into the circumstances surrounding the crash in the Far East, Izvestia reported, citing regional authorities.
