Moscow police have detained a 30-year-old suspect for allegedly running a brothel of transvestites next to the Paveletsky train station.
A statement published on the police website on Monday gave few details of the incident, but said the detention had occurred on Sunday and that "in addition to the suspect, another three citizens were located in the apartment, so-called transvestites, who for monetary rewards offered services of an intimate character."
Police said the illicit activities had been taking place since early April, and the prostitutes ranged in age from 22 to 36.
The three transvestites were charged with misdemeanor offenses for engaging in prostitution, while the ringleader faces charges of organizing prostitution. That charge carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.
