Crude Exports Down 1.2%

Russian crude exports dropped 1.2 percent in 2011 as domestic refining increased.

Exports reached 266 million tons, or 5.34 million barrels a day, last year, according to preliminary data from the Energy Ministry's CDU-TEK unit released on Jan. 2.

Exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States were 30 million tons. Shipments excluding the CIS were 211 million tons via Transneft's pipelines and 25 million tons outside of the national oil pipe operator's system. Production climbed 1.3 percent last year to an average of 10.27 million barrels a day, according to CDU-TEK.
