Russia's grain exports may be between 20 million to 22 million tons this marketing year from a crop of 90 million tons, Deputy Agriculture Minister Ilya Shestakov said Thursday.
Exports were about 7.4 million tons from July 1 until Sept. 14, including 6.6 million tons of wheat, 720,000 tons of barley and 28,000 tons of corn, Shestakov said.
Egypt agreed to purchase 240,000 tons of Russian wheat at a tender Thursday, said the vice chairman of Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities, Nomani Nomani.
Grain production may increase 1.6 percent in 2012 and 2013 and 5.3 percent in 2014, the Economic Development Ministry said on its web site. The sunflower seed crop will drop 12 percent next year after rising 45 percent this year, it said.
