Rosatom has been removed from a list of companies whose activities are restricted and subject to special licensing in the United States.
The Bureau of Industry and Security, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, removed Rosatom from its Entity List on Tuesday, according to the bureau's web site.
The Entity List provides notice to U.S. companies that certain exports, re-exports and transfers to parties on it require a license from the Bureau of Industry and Security. Two Rosatom-owned assets, the All-Russia Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics and All-Russia Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics remain on the list. Any other nuclear-related entities, institutes and centers in Snezhinsk and Sarov, where the two institutes are based, are also subject to licensing requirements.
