Gazprom will pay Ukraine $2.75 billion in transit fees this year, up from $2.6 billion last year, a senior company official said Monday.
Ukraine will pay an average of $280 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas this year, said the executive, Anatoly Podmyshalsky, who is in charge of dealing with the former Soviet republics. That will be an increase from last year's average of $250 because of the higher oil price, which Gazprom uses to determine how much it will charge for gas.
