The republics of Kalmykia and Kabardino-Balkaria and the Kaliningrad region have confirmed leaders nominated by President Dmitry Medvedev, Interfax reported.
Kalmykia's legislature approved the republic's former first deputy prime minister, Alexei Orlov, as its new head on Tuesday. He replaces Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who had governed Kalmykia since 1993 but said last month that he would not seek reappointment in line with Medvedev's policy of limiting local leaders to three terms in office.
Orlov will take office after Ilyumzhinov's term expires Oct. 24.
Kaliningrad Governor Nikolai Tsukanov was inaugurated Tuesday, replacing Georgy Boos, who was not selected for reappointment by the ruling United Russia party after his first term ended in August following public protests against his policies.
Kabardino-Balkaria President Arsen Kanokov was inaugurated for a second term in the republic's capital, Nalchik, on Tuesday. His candidacy was approved by lawmakers Sept. 1.
