Business: RenCap Cuts RTS '08 Target to 2,350
Renaissance Capital on Monday slashed its year-end forecast for the benchmark RTS Index from 3,000 to 2,350 and increased its equity risk premium for the country from 4 percent to 5.5 percent in a sign of continued investor jitters.

17 January 2006New MN Editor Vitaly Tretyakov will be named the new editor of Moskovskiye Novosti on Tuesday, the newspaper said in a statement Monday. MN and Tretyakov, former editor of the liberal newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta, declined to comment about the appointment, saying they would take questions only at a news conference scheduled for Tuesday, Interfax reported. MN, which was once owned by Leonid Nevzlin, a core shareholder in Yukos' parent company, was sold last year to Russian billionaire Arkady Gaidamak, who lives in Israel. (MT) Phone Numbers Changing MGTS, the Moscow telephone company, was to begin changing tens of thousands of telephone numbers Monday as part of a network upgrade. The fixed-line operator said that numbers beginning with the three-digit prefixes 923, 926, 927 and 929 would change to 623, 626, 627 and 629. The switch is to be completed by Jan.
