Duma on Georgia MOSCOW (AP) -- The State Duma passed a tepid statement of support Wednesday for Georgia's attempts to strengthen its security, including through U.S. anti-terrorist training, but also called for closer Russian cooperation with separatists. The statement, passed by an overwhelming vote of 364-3, with no abstentions, was significantly softer than the one promised last week by senior lawmaker Dmitry Rogozin. He had said that the Duma might call on the government to recognize the independence of Georgia's breakaway provinces in retaliation for Tbilisi's acceptance of U.S. military trainers.
