The latest list of government enterprises to be privatized includes mostly unromantic entities like Rossgosstrakh, the state insurance agency. But one name -- Mosfilm -- is dear to the hearts of several generations of Russians. Mosfilm, flagship of the once-glorious Soviet movie industry, produced about a third of all Soviet-era films, including classics such as ""Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears"" and Andrei Tarkovsky's ""Andrei Rublyov,"" to name just two. But, struggling after the loss of government subsidies, the legendary studio founded in 1924 by director Sergei Eisenstein wound up on a government list of properties slated for privatization, along with gritty industrial names such as the Russky diesel plant in St. Petersburg and the Kamsky paper mill. That pains Igor Shabdurasulov, government spokesman and head of its cultural department, who made the announcement of pending privatization at a press conference this week.
