WHITE PLAINS, New York -- A Soviet emigre was convicted of plotting her scientist husband's murder, killing him with a hatchet and ordering her cousin to dismember the body. Following Thursday's conviction, Rita Gluzman, 48, faces up to life in prison without parole when she is sentenced April 30. Mrs. Gluzman feared her impending divorce from her estranged husband, Yakov Gluzman, 48, would cost her the computer business she owned with her husband, according to testimony by her cousin Vladimir Zelenin. Federal prosecutors said she thought she could collect as much as $1.7 million in insurance and other benefits if her husband died.
