Three Japanese Citizens Request Asylum at Russian Embassy in Tokyo

Three people attempted to break into the Russian Embassy in Tokyo on Friday to ask for political asylum, the TASS news agency reported.

A father with two daughters ?€” all Japanese citizens thought to be of Swiss origin ?€” appeared at the embassy's main gates early in the morning, the embassy?€™s press service said, TASS reported.

The visitors said they intended to request political asylum, as they are as being persecuted in Japan for their ?€?anti-American?€? views.

They behaved in an ?€?aggressive?€? manner and the embassy contacted the local police and the Japanese Foreign Ministry, according to the press office.

The asylum request will be considered and the applicants will be notified of the embassy?€™s decision.

… we have a small favor to ask.
