A soldier in the Russian city of Kostroma, 300 kilometers north of Moscow, killed two soldiers and an officer, injured another two military men and then shot himself, TASS news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Defense Ministry spokespeople.
The investigation revealed that the killer might have attacked the victims out of personal motives, the report said.
"Injured military men are receiving the necessary medical care at the moment," ministry spokespeople told TASS.
A ministry commission and investigators from the military subdivision of the Investigative Committee are working at the crime scene now, the report said.
