A pensioner in Siberia's Kemerovo region was detained by police after stealing erectile disfunction medication from a local pharmacy, Russian media reported Monday.
The 56-year-old man asked to look at the tablets, and when the pharmacist showed him the packet, he grabbed it and dashed out of the door, the Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper reported.
Once outside, the would-be Casanova was apprehended by a witness to the incident, and escorted back inside the pharmacy, where staff discovered that he had managed to swiftly swallow several tablets worth a total of 2,000 rubles ($32), the paper reported.
The man said he had no money to pay for the drugs he had consumed, but promised to return with the money later, leaving his pensioner's ID card as security.
The pensioner had not returned several hours later, however, prompting suspicion that he had found something better to do. Pharmacy staff called the police and the man was traced using his ID. The pensioner faces up to four years in prison if charged and convicted of robbery, Rossiiskaya Gazeta reported.
