The ruble lost two points against the dollar during trading Monday on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, closing at 1,744 per dollar.
Net trading volume, which excludes compulsory dollar sales from export revenues, was $15.3 million, after initial supply of $36.2 million and initial demand for $36.75 million. Fifty-one banks participated in the trading.
The ruble also fell against the Deutsche mark, closing at 1,046 compared to 1,042 on Friday.
