A deputy from the Saratov legislative assembly in central Russia has proposed that schoolchildren with autism or learning disabilities be removed from classrooms so that teachers could devote more attention to other students, local FreeNews-Volga news website reported Thursday.
Deputy Dmitry Kudinov said that teachers have to devote half of their time to “the child meowing under the table,” FreeNews-Volga reported. The United Russia party member said that children with learning disabilities need a separate class and “an additional psychologist or specialist.”
Senior United Russia official Yury Shuvalov responded to Kudinov's statement on Twitter, suggesting that Kudinov be expelled from the party for his “dementia.”
