Putin Extends Condolences to India Following Fatal Temple Fire

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed condolences to India's president and prime minister over a huge deadly fire Sunday at a Hindu temple, the Kremlin said in a statement.

The blaze at the Puttingal temple in the town of Paravur killed at least 106 people and injured more than 500, according to official figures cited by media reports.

Putin ?€?conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, and wishes for a quick recovery to the injured,?€? the Kremlin said.

He also expressed condolences to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the statement said.
