Moscow police have detained a man who was lying down naked on Red Square in front of the Lenin Mausoleum, appealing to the mummified Bolshevik leader to share his abode.
“Lenin, please share your housing — I am an orphan and disabled,” the man could be heard shouting in a video broadcast by LifeNews television on Wednesday.
The man was lying down on the square's icy cobblestones, covering himself with a sheet on which was written: “Lenin, share your housing,” Ren television reported Wednesday.
While the man did not find shelter from the ice and snow within the mausoleum, he was taken to a police station, and may later relocate to a psychiatric hospital, LifeNews reported.
The man had previously held a one-person rally in front of the State Duma, Russia's lower chamber of parliament, demanding that the state issue him an apartment, Ren television reported, citing accounts on social networks.
