Moscow Bridge Climber Charged With Hooliganism

A man who climbed on top of Moscow's Krymsky Most, allegedly to take a selfie photograph, has been charged with hooliganism, after the city's police, Emergency Situations Ministry psychologists, and rescuers armed with construction equipment succeeded in bringing him down, a news report said.

The detainee, identified as a 26-year-old citizen of Belarus, will face trial Tuesday on "petty hooliganism" charges, Interior Ministry spokesman Andrei Galiakberov said, Interfax news agency reported.

The man appeared to be drunk during the incident on Krymsky Most, near the Park Kultury metro station, and claimed his actions were inspired by a "wish to take an impressive selfie and beautiful pictures of central Moscow," Galiakberov was quoted as saying.
