Ferris Wheel Gets Stuck at All-Russia Exhibition Center

A group of people got a scare at Moscow's All-Russia Exhibition Center when the Ferris wheel they were riding got stuck for about 20 minutes because of an unspecified mechanical problem.

It was not immediately clear how many people were riding the attraction when the incident occurred Saturday. Itar-Tass put the figure at 10, while Interfax said it was five.

Emergency workers and park management immediately arrived at the scene to try to assist the passengers and figure out what went wrong, news reports said. Paramedics also waited on standby.

After 20 minutes, park workers manually spun the Ferris wheel around, allowing the passengers to alight.

The park, which is located in northern Moscow and contains a mix of shops, attractions and cafes, has opened an investigation into cause of the malfunction.
