Russian and U.S. negotiators could finalize a new nuclear arms treaty within days, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Monday.
"We are on the verge; I think that this business will be wrapped up in the coming days," Ryabkov said, RIA-Novosti reported.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in Moscow on Friday that the two sides were "on the brink" of final agreement on a successor to the expired 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.
Other Russian officials have said the treaty could be ready for signing in April. Negotiations are being held in Geneva.
