Prosecutors in the Sverdlovsk region are looking into the origin of school notebooks featuring Nazi leader Adolf Hitler that have been found in several Yekaterinburg bookstores, TASS news agency reported Friday.

The notebooks feature a historical figure on each page and the page on Hitler includes a short biography of the Nazi leader alongside his portrait. The books were first discovered Thursday by members of the public organization "Urals Parents Committee " the report said, without specifying the number of texts in circulation.

The biography describes Hitler as the founder of national socialism and dictator of the Third Reich. It also states that many crimes against humanity are tied to his name, including the Holocaust.

The head of the printing press where the books were printed was called in for questioning, according to news site Lenta.ru, though prosecutors have said there are no grounds to open a criminal investigation as the book does not promote Nazism in any way.

Hitler's own book Mein Kampf — a manifesto published in 1925 that outlines his political beliefs — was banned in 2010 by Russia, which classifies the text as extremist literature.
