5 Workers in Crane Collapse

Russia's emergency services say a crane crashed to the ground on a construction site near the Kazakh border, killing five Chinese workers and injuring five more.

The crane fell in Troitsk, a city in the Ural Mountains on Russia's border with Kazakhstan. The workers were part of a crew building a power plant.

The cause of the accident on Monday was not immediately clear.

The Emergency Situations Ministry said four people were killed immediately and the fifth died in the hospital.

Russia has millions of migrant workers, mainly from other former Soviet republics, although tens of thousands of Chinese citizens also have come to Russia seeking work.
