Chain of expensive coffeeshops. The most famous is on Bolshaya Nikitskaya next to the Conservatory grand hall. The coffee is very good and the desserts ingenious. In hot weather the terrace is especially popular.

The interiors of this restaurant inspire deep affection: it looks like a picturesque Georgian village in miniature. There is a VIP hall and one a bit more simple. They are two halls of the same restaurant but have separate entrances from the street. The food is abundant and tasty, and shashliks are served with songs.

Elite Italian restaurant with a stunningly luxurious interior that was created to look like a Venetian palace. Broad delicatessen menu. Prices are high (pizza costs 1000 rubles on average). But in the coffee hall you can have breakfast until 12.00 for reduced prices; the main menu comes into effect after that.

One of the oldest Japanese chains in Moscow is also one of the most reliable - if you don't expect to see pufferfish and blue tuna on a silver plate and are ready to wait 15 minutes for a table, then you will probably like it. This Petersburg chain of democratic sushi-bars appeared in Moscow not long ago, but has already opened 20 branches. Homely Russian cooking at low prices with folky decoration. There is a buffet with a large choice of snacks and starters. A good place to bring people who are guests in the city, if you can't spend money on an expensive restaurant. Zhiguli

    
The beer restaurant Zhiguli has been well-known to the Moscow public since the 60s. The renovated premises opened in 2002. These days Zhiguli is a fast food cafe on the ground floor and a rather expensive restaurant on the second. The interior is stylish and nostalgic. The main attraction is of course the freshly brewed house beer, with a range of classic ‘beer’ dishes to go with it. Zhiguli has lively parties with dancing at the weekends.
