While summer officially arrived a month ago in name, the actual temperatures in Moscow have recently made its presence more palpable. As Muscovites bemoan the 30 degree temperatures and the lack of air conditioning in many apartments (and the metro), people have taken refuge in the shade, under umbrellas and even in public fountains to beat the heat. Vladimir Filonov braved the sweaty streets and has shared some portraits of the city's coping mechanisms with us.
