Last weekend, the Moscow metro got a taste of Paris with the official opening of this new entrance to the Kievskaya station. Its flowing metal archway is a replica of the famous Art Nouveau entrances to the Paris metro, designed by architect Hector Guimard in the early 20th century. Stanislas de Laboulaye, the French ambassador to Russia, attended Saturday's opening ceremony; in return, Moscow officials plan to present Paris with replicas of the stained-glass artwork in Novoslobodskaya metro station.
