Avant-Garde Music on Wednesday

Manezh

On Wednesday the Kymatic New Meditative Music Ensemble will perform a concert at the Vadim Sidur Museum.

The program will feature baroque pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach as well as contemporary music of the 20th century including compositions from Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina and Toru Takemitsu.

Musicians in the ensemble include multi-instrumentalist Anton Izgagin, a cast member from the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Alexei Chichilin and pianist Daria Vorontsova, who won a prize at the 2012 international classical music festival in Ruza.

They will be joined by fellow musicians Darina Ablogina, Ivan Drevalev and Alina Petrova.

The Vadim Sidur Museum is dedicated to sculpture and is frequently used as a performance venue for screenings, concerts and contemporary avant-garde and electric music.

This unique evening of music in a beautiful but contemporary culture center is the perfect way to mark the middle of the week.
