Domodedovo Owner Kamenshchik Walks Free

The owner of Moscow's Domodedovo Airport Dmitry Kamenshchik can soon return to work, as the Moscow City Court dismissed a criminal case against him Friday, according to the airport’s press service.

The court also dismissed criminal cases against two of Kamenshchik's colleagues — Vyacheslav Nekrasov and Andrei Danilov, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Kamenshchik was arrested in February on charges that his neglect had indirectly led to the deaths of 37 people after a terrorist attack at the airport in 2011.

Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Malinovsky appealed to prosecutors to terminate the ongoing criminal case on June 3.

Kamenshchik, Russia's 27th-richest man, has been under house arrest since being detained.

The billionaire began his work at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport in the mid-1990s, quickly modernizing the country's largest airport.
