Ella Pamfilova Maxim Stulov / Vedomosti

The head of Russia’s Central Election Committee, Ella Pamfilova, has announced in an interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio station that she will resign in the event of ? unfair elections.

She expressed hope that she will be able to remove negativity and distrust toward elections.

“I simply aim to perform professionally, as I am obliged to do, but time will tell. Will this distrust be removed, raise people?€™s interest and trust in elections?” she asked.

She stressed that people shouldn't feel that the elections are ?€?just some kind of sham,?€? and that a lot depends on their outcome.
