Moscow's Kursky Railway Station Evacuated After Bomb Threat

About 1,000 people were evacuated from the Kursky Railway Station in eastern Moscow following a bomb threat, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Friday, citing an unidentified source in the emergency services.

An anonymous call received at 7.20 a.m. claimed that there was an explosive devi??e in a luggage locker at the railway station, a source told the news agency.

No explosives were found on the site, the TASS news agency reported citing an unidentified source in law enforcement. The incident has not affected the train timetable, he added.

Police are now searching for the person who made the phone call.

Making hoax bomb threats is punishable by up to three years in jail in Russia.
