The Russian government on Tuesday published a list of economic sanctions against Turkey, including an import ban on Turkish products, as retaliation after the downing of a Russian Su-24 on the Turkish border with Syria last week.

The ban applies to a range of Turkish products, including fruits and vegetables — such as tomatoes, cucumbers and apples ?€” poultry products and salt, according to the list published on the government's website.

The ban will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2016, the statement said.

The order, which was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, also formalized an earlier call to ban all charter flights between Russia and Turkey and announced restrictions on Turkish transport companies, among other measures.

Russia's relations with NATO-ally Turkey have hit a post-Cold War low after Turkey downed a Russian warplane last week, arguing it had unlawfully entered its airspace.

Moscow has denied the claims, with President Vladimir Putin calling the incident “a stab in the back.”
