U.S. Drama 'House of Cards' Features Putin Look-Alike in New Trailer

A trailer for season three of U.S. hit series House of Cards has fans in a frenzy over what appear to be heavy hints that the new season's plot line will feature a character based on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The new series will see actor Kevin Spacey reprise his role as shady politician Frank Underwood, who is shown in the trailer sitting alongside a man bearing more than a passing resemblance to Putin.

In another scene, the two men can be seen standing by a desk with Russian flags hanging in the background.

Last summer, Russia's United Nations delegation blocked a request by the producers of "House of Cards" to use its New York headquarters as the backdrop to two episodes of the hit series.

Unconfirmed reports have also claimed that Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, two members of the Russian punk group Pussy Riot who served 18 months in jail for performing an anti-Putin song in a Moscow cathedral, could appear in the latest season of the show.
