Police in Siberia have fined three car drivers after a video of a procession of vehicles 'waltzing' along a highway went viral on YouTube.
A clip of the procession, which was published online Sunday and has been viewed almost 50,000 times since then, shows three four-wheel drives swerving from one side of the road to the other as a limousine rides in front of them.
The Toyota Land Cruisers appear to want to block other road users from overtaking a wedding cortege by swerving across the width of the road.
One driver reportedly tried to overtake the procession but was almost run off the road, commentary published alongside the YouTube video says.
The incident was not captured on film, however.
The drivers were tracked down a few days later and said they had performed the waltz at the request of the bridegroom, who had wanted to draw attention to his wedding cortege, the Interfax news agency quoted a regional police spokesman as saying.
The drivers, who said they did not realize they were impeding other road users through their actions, were hit with traffic-violation charges and each fined 1,500 rubles ($36), the spokesman added.
