Yushchenko Denies Illegal Arms Sales to Georgia

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said Tuesday that his country does not illegally deliver arms to Georgia, Interfax reported.

Russian officials have repeatedly accused Ukraine of supplying arms to Georgia despite Moscow’s threats to cut military-technical cooperation with countries that arm Tbilisi after its 2008 war with Georgia.

Yushchenko, speaking at an air show in Dubai, said Ukraine respects international regulations in its arms exports. “If the Russian side had at least one claim on this matter, it would have been told to the world 100 times,” he said.
